Frontenac Municipal Services (FMS) is seeking to appoint two new members to its Technical Support Committee (TSC).
The Technical Support Committee plays a critical advisory role in supporting the planning, operation, and long-term sustainability of communal water and wastewater systems across Frontenac County. As FMS moves toward its first operational systems and continued growth in 2026, this Committee provides essential technical insight to inform Board and staff decision-making.
About the Technical Support Committee
Committee members contribute professional expertise and practical insight on topics such as system design, operations, maintenance, emerging technologies, and long-term sustainability. The Committee works collaboratively with FMS staff and the Board by reviewing materials, offering advice, and identifying risks and opportunities related to communal servicing.
Areas of Expertise
Applicants should bring experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Water and wastewater engineering
- Utility operations and asset management
- Environmental management and infrastructure planning
- Regulatory, policy, or compliance-related fields
- Other relevant technical disciplines supporting communal or decentralized systems
Experience with small, rural, or communal servicing systems is considered an asset.
Time Commitment & Meeting Schedule
- Meetings are held bi-monthly (minimum six meetings per year)
- Meetings take place at 2069 Battersea Road, Glenburnie ON, with a hybrid option available for virtual attendance
- Meetings are typically two (2) hours in duration
- Members are expected to review materials in advance and participate actively
Compensation
- $200 per meeting (per diem)
- Travel expenses reimbursed in accordance with FMS policy
Term of Appointment
- Standard appointment is two (2) years, with the opportunity for renewal
